Hi, I'm Jess!

I'm a queer birth and postpartum doula who is passionate about supporting families outside the mainstream mold.

I started Chosen Family Birth to provide a radically inclusive space for LGBTQ+ and non-traditional families to feel seen, heard, and deeply supported in one of life's most sacred transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and rooted in the belief that every birthing person deserves respect, autonomy, and care that reflects their values and identity.

Whether you're navigating fertility, preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or building your own unique version of family, I'm here to walk beside you with knowledge, tenderness, and joy.

With Jess’s support, I felt confident in my decisions and always knew that she would be honest with me. Her support helped me feel empowered, even in such a vulnerable situation.
Jess will always have a special place in our hearts. Every time I look at our beautiful baby, I am reminded of how crucial she was in bringing them into the world.
Jess connected so well with all of our nurses and helped create a sense of calm and joy during a stressful situation.

Why Work with a Birth Doula?

Every birth is unique, and so is every family. As your birth doula, I support to help you feel grounded, informed, and empowered — no matter how or where you give birth. You deserve care that sees you, respects your choices, and celebrates your story.

Continuous, Nonjudgmental Support During Labor

A birth doula stays by your side from early labor through birth, offering steady emotional and physical support — without shift changes, assumptions, or pressure.

Advocacy Rooted in Your Values

Your doula helps you voice your needs and preferences in medical settings, ensuring your choices and identity are respected — no explaining, no code-switching, just you being fully you.

Tools for Comfort and Confidence

From breathing and movement to massage and positioning, a birth doula brings hands-on tools to help manage pain and support your body’s process naturally and safely.

Evidence-Based Guidance

Get clear, compassionate info to help you understand your options and make choices that reflect your values, not someone else’s agenda.

Support That Continues After Birth

The fourth trimester can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. As your postpartum doula, I’m here to nurture and support your whole family — with hands-on help, emotional care, and gentle guidance tailored to your identity, needs, and values. Healing happens in community — let’s build yours together.

Gentle Guidance

Whether it’s feeding support, newborn care, or navigating emotions, a postpartum doula helps ease the transition with calm, nonjudgmental presence.

Practical Help You Can Actually Use

From meal prep and light tidying to baby soothing and sibling care, your doula fills in where needed so you can focus on bonding, healing, and finding your rhythm.

Affirming Care for All Family Structures

Postpartum doulas support not just the baby, but you — checking in on your mental health, helping you rest, and honoring your identity and experience as a new parent.

Mental Health & Recovery Awareness

I keep an eye on your well-being and help you recognize signs of postpartum mood changes—because your health matters, too.
